Redefining Fund Development

Entertain us for a moment and scrap everything you currently know about traditional fundraising - the good, the bad, and the ugly.

After consulting with school district leadership in various capacities over the past 25+ years, we know emphatically that most (if not all) schools face challenges implementing robust and responsive family and community engagement. Most schools also exclusively conduct fundraisers that are organized and executed by adults.

At Life Less Complicated, we believe the two are interrelated.

We also share the philosophy that while not all young people will venture into the business world, all youth need an entrepreneurial spirit to succeed in today’s workforce.

New. Simple. Effective. Profitable.

We’ve developed proprietary fund development systems and tools that maximize the amenities all schools already have.

A small group of students (10-12) interested in developing real-world skills they can leverage and monopolize after graduation.

One school cafeteria with tables and chairs.

A nominal amount of seed money to get things in motion.

A few mentors/champions/advocates willing to take a backseat approach to student-driven, student-designed fund development endeavors designed to help young people develop real-world, interpersonal, executive function, and self-regulation skills.

My favorite part is when you play the cards you can’t look at. It always worked out for me cuz I’m super lucky.

Everyone was happy and having a good time. I wonder when we can play again.

The custodian card is definitely my favorite.

Cards and frisbees LOL - who knew.
— Diego, 7th grade
My parents came to our tournament. At first I didn’t want them to come because it would embarrass me. But they had lots of fun and were proud of how good my friends and me organized things.
— Chelsea, 8th grade
We never played cards when I was growing up. A bunch of teachers worked stuff out so we could do this. We made $3,700 for our football team. I’m a cheerleader BTW.
— Paige, 9th grade
We organized a fun day for one of the biggest employers in our town. For $100 the workers got to miss work (lucky), ate lunch that the boss bought, and we played cards for hours. The place bought some really cool prizes. I think that our school got a check for like $6,000.

At Life Less Complicated, we prefer S.I.M.P.L.E. over needlessly complex.

With a 1,000% or more ROI, our proprietary system is a practical investment.

As a refresher, ROI is calculated:

Gross Profit - Investment (Net Return on Investment)/Cost of Investment x 100 (to get the percentage).

Yep, we’ve already done the math, and if conducted effectively, your students can quickly generate $7,500 or more. If that hasn’t piqued your curiosity, contemplate this - unlike most fundraisers, ours can be repeated unlimited times with no additional charges (provided nothing unfortunate/unexpected happens with the supplies).

As students learn how to work better as a cohesive team, perfect their design and implementation, and become more confident in engaging the community - they will also financially win every time.
